Cheryl Erber (of Counsel)

Cheryl has been an attorney in the Bay Area for over fifteen years and has worked at some of the top law firms in Silicon Valley including Wilson Sonsini Goodrich Rosati and Baker & McKenzie. Prior to joining Sayar Fausto, LLP, she led a thriving private practice focused on high tech start-ups, particularly in media and internet, such as NotchUp, LuminaryTV and Buildwizard. Her practice includes innovative biotech startups such as LifeScience PLUS and consumer products companies such as Tulsi Rose. Over the past several years she has shifted her practice toward litigation and has represented numerous clients in complex trials. She is now leading the civil litigation department at Sayar Fausto, LLP to meet the needs of the firm’s clients in civil litigation.

Cheryl has experience in all forms of dispute resolution including arbitration and mediation. Her expertise covers many types of civil litigation, from real estate disputes including landlord tenant, zoning, construction, foreclosure and fraud to intellectual property disputes including domain disputes and trademark, copyright and patent infringement, as well as conflict of interest and breach of contract disputes. Cheryl also has experience in employment litigation ranging from wrongful termination to harassment cases.

Cheryl's skills in corporate law and governance cover the spectrum of corporate services ranging from guidance as to initial formation: C Corporations, S Corporations, LLC's, LLP's and DBA's, including Not-For-Profit Corporations through liquidating events and can prepare purchases and sales of businesses, assets or stock, as well as mergers, acquisitions and dissolutions. She has experience drafting all necessary corporate documents from Articles of Incorporation to Board Minutes. All manner of agreements for companies of all sizes from Shareholder Agreements, Non Compete and Non Disclosure Agreements to Distributor Agreements, Partnership and Joint Venture Agreements as well as License Agreements for copyrighted or trademarked material, Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policies for websites will be custom drafted.

Community Involvement

Cheryl has served on numerous non-profit boards such as All-Schools-Fund, Palo Alto Foundation for Education (PAFE), Partners in Education (PiE), Palo Alto Historic Homes (PAST) and executive boards of Walter Hays School PTA, Jordan Middle School PTA and Palo Alto High School PTSA.
